Noise at work assessments across the South Coast

Dorset, Hampshire and the Solent — from Poole Harbour marine yards to the aerospace & composites cluster around Bournemouth, and the quarries of the Isle of Purbeck. We're based here, so this is where we know the floors best.

The industries that actually drive noise risk here

Marine & boatbuildingGRP grinding and sanding, spray-booth extraction and fitting-out work along the Solent from Poole and Southampton to Portsmouth — noise the eye misses because it's dust, not the workshop din people expect.
Aerospace & compositesPrecision machining, autoclave and lay-up work in the manufacturing corridor around Bournemouth Airport and Christchurch, where composite cutting and finishing sit alongside conventional metalwork.
Quarrying & stoneThe Isle of Purbeck's stone quarries and cutting sheds — saws and planers running close to continuously, a classic upper-action-value floor.
Food & drink productionDorset and Hampshire's breweries and food producers, where bottling and filling lines are the steady background most staff stop noticing.

A real assessment from this coast

A marine-engineering manufacturer on the South Coast came to us after years of judging noise “by ear.” The measurement found a hand-hammering station running at roughly sixteen times the daily action value — with no obvious bang to give it away. Read the full case study →

How we cover the region

Most of our week is spent within an hour or so of Bournemouth — Poole, Southampton, Portsmouth, Christchurch, Salisbury and the towns in between — so response times here are usually the fastest we offer anywhere. We also cross to the Isle of Wight by ferry as a matter of routine, and we assess sites across the rest of the UK; being local to the south coast changes the travel, not whether we come.

Common questions

Are you actually based on the south coast, or is this just a landing page?

Genuinely based here — our registered office is in Bearwood, Bournemouth, and it's where most of our assessment work happens week to week. We also cover the rest of the UK; being local just means faster response and lower travel cost close to home.

Do you cover the Isle of Wight?

Yes — we factor the ferry crossing into scheduling so it doesn't add cost or delay to the assessment itself.

We're a boatyard or fit-out shop — is dust the only issue?

No. Sanding, grinding and spray-booth extraction are usually the real noise risk alongside the dust controls you already have in place.

What does it cost?
